This picture is an attempt to show a graduated cylinder that has been filled with water and inverted in a canning cauldron containing additional water. The oxygen from the balloon in the previous pciture has been released into the inverted cylinder, displacing part of the water. The volume of gas captured in the cylinder can be read from the graduations on the side of the cylinder.[Next]
